In the early 90’s, the Viper was an insane car, it still is, no traction or stability control. It didn’t have exterior door handles because it was roadster only, so why did it die in 2018? It was the only real Corvette fighter, and it’s V10 was developed by Lamborghini while FCA owned them. But it didn’t really sell. The Corvette has been around longer and is just more proven, but we don’t see cars like the Viper anymore. Cars like the McLaren Senna say they’re “stripped out”, but nothing’s like the Viper. And FCA’s CEO says that it has no plans to bring the Viper back, which is too bad because with the mid-engined ‘Vette, would have some serious competition if the Viper put it‘s V10 in the middle, and with the power that Dodges are making now, it would be insanely powerful as well. But let’s keep our hopes up and our complaints flowing, and maybe the king of snakes will return to torture the Corvette owners someday.
The Dodge Viper, did it need to die?
